Traffic Jam on
After leaving Port Hope Monday evening about 6:15 pm traffic was at a crawl for at least an hour. There were no overhead warnings for construction so no idea why the traffic was almost at a standstill for so long. All three lanes completely blocked. After about an hour close to Newcastle there was a very large crane parked in the middle lane and all traffic had to be diverted into one lane. There should be warnings posted before Port Hope so that people can choose not to travel or take an alternate route. Extremely bad communication system. A journey to Toronto that would usually be about 1 hour took 3 hours.
